Life At Ten is mush more than a racetrack issue , Breeders, Cup issue, or an international Safety & Integrity Alliance issue. It is an industry issue that impact two fundamental areas: the health safty of our human and equine athletes and the intergrity of pari-mutuel wagering. How Life At Ten impacts the Safety & Integrity Alliance remains to be seen. By its very definition, the Alliance Code of Standards is an evolutionary platform, with the 2011code, expected to be releasedin early April, addressing a number of newly added safety and integrity issues. the Alliance was established in October 2009 after 155 racetracks and virtualy every major horsemen,s organization pledged that safety and integrity are our sport's highest priorities. Since then, 87 racetracks representing some 70% of the international pari-mutuel handle, have recived accreditation. To achieve accreditation, atrack must demonstrate that it is meeting or exceeding a lengthy list of standards outlined in the code. Nothing more, nothing less. Life At Ten strikes at the safety and integrity of our game. On those two fronts, all of us in the industry have a stake in the outcome.
